Annual Charter / Re-certification

When John Wesley began the Methodist Church, it was with the firm belief that we, as Christians, needed and benefited from being “connected”. And over the years, that belief has withstood the test of time. That’s why United Methodists are referred to as “connectional”.

It is important for your United Methodist Men’s Ministry to be connected by chartering. After the initial charter, you certify your unit annually. Some ask, “Why should we charter/certify as long as we have a men’s group and meet regularly?” There are several reasons why it would be helpful for you to charter/certify. Most important, you men become a link in the international movement of men extending the Kingdom of God. Your charter/certification gift supports UMMen work that one unit alone cannot do. Some of the services UMMen of the North Georgia Conference continues to provide are: A Local Men’s Ministry Handbook (or Updates) each year, Local Programming Ideas and Suggestions, the MENSNEWS, an office and staff that are here to serve and help you, district and local fellowship officer training, mission programs – local, national, international, annual spiritual men’s retreat at Rock Eagle each fall, maintaining a database of men in the conference, Scouting support, and many more too numerous to name. On a national level, your gift helps to support the Upper Room Living Prayer Center, Scouting and Men in Ministry emphasis.

If you are not chartered, or if you need to re-certify for this year, please contact Judy at 678-533-1458 or email at: This email address is being protected from spambots. It’s quick, painless, and can be a major benefit to your local Men’s Ministry.
